Head of Environmental Affairs and Permitting
Dr. Kevin Bliss has over 35 years of environmental management and permitting experience at the local, state, and federal levels, including 6+ years in the renewable energy sector. Previous positions include Sr. Permitting Specialist and Project Manager with TRC, a leading global consulting, engineering, and construction management firm; Permit Administrator and Program Manager with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation; and Environmental Planner at the County and City levels. Kevin enjoys teaching environmental science, ecology, and other evening courses at a local university, and holds Board positions on several non-profit corporations, including the Great Swamp Conservancy, the NYS Wetlands Forum, and the Atlantic States Legal Foundation. Kevin is a certified Professional Wetland Scientist and has a PhD and MS in Environmental Science from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, as well as undergraduate degrees in Water Resources and Fisheries and Wildlife Technology.
Director of Strategy and Business Analytics
Mateo serves as the Director of Strategy and Business Analytics at RIC Energy, leveraging over a decade of leadership experience in the distributed energy sector. His experience extends across various distributed energy domains, including wind energy, energy storage, and pioneering community solar development in New York. Mateo‘s expertise spans strategic planning, business development, and project management, with a proven track record of driving growth and profitability. He earned both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in engineering from Columbia University. Hailing from Colombia, Mateo is fluent in Spanish.
Administrative Assistant
Chantia is an Administrative Assistant working in Operations and Finance at RIC. With a background in Office Management and Administration, she attended Hostos College, graduating with an Applied Science degree. Her career transitioned into the corporate world, where she brought hospitality and white-glove service to the office setting. Prior to joining RIC, Chantia served as an Office Manager in the financial service industry. Outside of work, she enjoys curling up with a good book or taking walks along the Hudson River Park.
Senior Director of M&A and Capital Markets
Will oversees the raise of third-party capital solutions and M&A activity. Prior to RIC Energy, he led the capital markets efforts for Nautilus Solar Energy, raising over $750MM in tax equity and debt commitments. He holds a B.S. in Economics and B.A. in Environmental Studies from Tulane University. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, skiing and scuba diving.
Senior Manager of Origination
Eric is responsible for the analysis of various real estate opportunities and for determining which opportunities are most suitable for the development of community scale solar and energy storage projects. Eric is also responsible for overseeing landowner negotiations and initiating project campaigns targeting high value areas. He has years of experience working on land acquisition campaigns for both renewable energy and telecommunications projects, holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Syracuse University and is currently studying for his MBA in Project Management from Colorado State University.
Interconnection Project Manager
Donna serves as the Interconnection Project Manager for RIC Energy’s renewable assets. She holds an MBA from the University of La Verne, California, and a B.S. in Construction Management from California Polytechnic State University. Her extensive experience in the energy sector includes roles in natural gas transmission and renewable energy, totaling over 12 years. Donna’s expertise spans Power Plant commissioning and Distributive Generation interconnection.
Project Development Manager
As a Project Development Manager at RIC, Weston is responsible for managing RIC projects throughout the development stages while ensuring successful permitting and responsible sitting. With 14 years of experience in environmental consulting and project management, he has extensive experience in the renewable energy market and permitting for 94-c and community sized solar projects. His environmental consulting experience lends to a well-rounded background in environmental assessments and permitting, regulatory compliance, ecology/biology, remediation, and project management in NY, NJ, PA. Weston holds a Wildlife and Fisheries Science, B.S. degree from Pennsylvania State University. Outside of work, Weston is spending time with his wife and 3 children and participating in all things sports and outdoors.
Senior Site Acquisition Manager
Jeff serves as a Senior Site Acquisition Manager on the Origination Team, with over 17 years of experience in the energy acquisition industry. He has worked across multiple sectors, including Oil and Gas, Transmission, and Renewable Energy. Jeff has been instrumental in assisting the completion of numerous major energy developments across the US, leveraging his acquisition experience to drive successful project outcomes and advance sustainable energy solutions.
Associate Director of Interconnection
Louisa is responsible for the management of utility interconnection for RIC Energy’s renewable assets. Louisa brings 7+ years of experience in the renewable sector working with PV, Storage & Wind projects. Prior to RIC, she led the interconnection of renewable energy projects throughout the United States including CA, CO, IL, NV, TX, and NY. She holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelors of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Columbia College of Missouri.
Project Manager
Jeremy is responsible for managing the development process of distributed generation assets at RIC Energy, ensuring projects are responsibly sited and successfully permitted. With over five years of experience in both solar and oil and gas exploration and production, Jeremy possesses a comprehensive understanding of the energy industry, enabling him to seize opportunities for solar growth. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
General Counsel
Jeff Keeler oversees the U.S. legal team and provides legal support for all aspects of RIC Energy’s U.S. business, including project development, M&A, finance, construction, commercial transactions, and real estate. Jeff is a veteran renewable energy industry executive and entrepreneur, with over 25 years’ experience in both commercial and legal roles. Jeff’s wide range of experience includes leadership positions at renewable energy companies from large global corporations including Iberdrola Renewables (now Avangrid), to small and midsized energy companies, to start-ups he founded in energy and real estate, to his own law practice supporting renewable energy clients such as D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments. Jeff has dedicated most of his career to the advancement of clean energy and sustainability and has been involved in the development of over 5,000 megawatts of renewable power generation. Jeff holds a B.A. degree in political science from Drew University and a law degree with a certificate in public policy from Catholic University Law School, and he is admitted to practice law in New York and Connecticut.
Permitting Project Manager
Alexa is a Permitting Project Manager with over 6 years of experience in municipal and private environmental work. Her expertise encompasses endangered and threatened species management, invasive species management, wetland delineation services, environmental permitting services, and geographic information systems (GIS) work. Alexa holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies from St. Joseph’s College, as well as a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy and a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Systems from Johns Hopkins University.
GIS Analyst
Daniel is a GIS Analyst on the Origination Team, with over 3 years of experience as a cartographer responsible, for map-making and data management. He holds a master’s degree in GIS Management from Salisbury University and an undergraduate degree in Atmospheric Science & GIS. He resides in Colorado, where he enjoys the great outdoors and is an avid skier, boasting more than 100 days on the slopes in a season.
Project Manager, Development
After studying electronic engineering in Alcalá (my hometown), I was accepted into the ICEX-CECO MBA program. In recent years I have lived in a number of countries (USA, Italy, Ireland, Ghana and Sweden) for training or work reasons. Each country has brought me different things but I have been enriched by all of them. I am proactive and enthusiastic and a strong believer in the value of teamwork as a path to success. I am always interested in improving my personal and professional skills to ensure I achieve my life goals. Most of my free time is dedicated to sports, whether it is playing soccer or tennis, or surfing, skiing or mountaineering when I have the opportunity. I’m also quite fond of reading historical novels and I’m always up for a beer with nice people.
CEO and Founder
José Luis Moya has more than 30 years of experience, initially as a manager in the audit, finance, operations and commercial areas of multinational FMCG companies and later as an entrepreneur in the renewable energy sector.
15 years ago he was co-founder of ImMODO Solar S.A. and since 2014 founder and CEO of RIC Energy Group. PDD from IESE and Master in Senior Management from IE, graduated in business administration from the University of Alcalá de Henares.
Senior Director, Finance and Operations
As the Director of Finance and Operations at RIC Energy, USA, Kevin oversees finance and accounting, operations, HR, and IT. Kevin brings substantial experience in finance, accounting, data analysis, and data warehouse management, with over 15 years of experience in California’s agriculture and wine industries, including data analysis, FP&A, and finance. He earned a dual master’s degree in business and Environmental Policy from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies and is fluent in Spanish, having spent 3 years in Bolivia as a Peace Corps Volunteer.
Project Manager, Environmental Affairs and Permitting
Samantha boasts over nine years of experience working on a variety of scientific and regulatory projects in the environmental field. Her expertise spans federal, state, and local permitting and compliance, wetland delineations and assessments, endangered and threatened species presence and habitat assessments, avian presence and habitat assessments, and invasive species presence assessments and management. Prior to joining RIC, she held the position of Assistant Project Manager at TRC Companies. Samantha holds a Master of Science from Johns Hopkins University in Environmental Sciences and Policy and an Environmental Science degree from Bridgewater College in Virginia. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and nature walks.
Site Acquisition Manager
Sean serves as a Site Acquisition Manager on the Origination Team. In this role, he is responsible for conducting thorough research, engaging in outreach efforts, and negotiating land purchases and leases. Sean’s commercial acumen has been honed through active participation and trading in renewable energy markets over several years. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from CUNY Queens College.
Beyond his professional expertise, Sean is a fluent Spanish speaker, having been raised in a bilingual household. Additionally, he possesses conversational proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, which he cultivated during 7 years of study in high school and college
USA Chief Executive Officer
Jon oversees the project development, project finance/M&A, and EPC/O&M departments and is responsible for bringing to fruition more than 100 MW of the company’s distributed generation portfolio in the United States. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team, with more than 15 years’ experience in finance and management in the renewable energy industry and more than 7 years with RIC.
His previously work included management of a $100+ MM portfolio of renewable energy and industrial gas mitigation investments as Head of Investment at EcoSecurities, a division of JP Morgan Chase & Co and global leader in the nascent international carbon market. He holds Masters’ Degrees in Business Administration from Columbia Business School and International Energy Management and Policy from Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Vermont
Senior Director, Business Development
Chris manages RIC’s origination department and oversees the company’s land acquisition efforts throughout North American markets. He is responsible for establishing the company’s land campaign strategies from initial prospecting and due diligence to site control execution. Drawing on extensive experience in project management and environmental assessment, Chris ensures that RIC’s projects are responsibly sited and well positioned to succeed in both interconnection and permitting. He holds a Master’s in Environmental Impact Assessment from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from DePaul University.
Real Estate Paralegal
Lachanee provides paralegal support to RIC’s origination and development departments for various types of renewable energy projects throughout the United States. Her responsibilities include reviewing, preparing, and negotiating agreements such as lease and purchase options, easements, landowner estoppels, and various other land and title and curative documents. Lachanee brings experience in commercial real estate and financing transactions. In addition to her role at RIC, she is pursuing a JD degree at New York Law School.
GIS Analyst
As a GIS Analyst at RIC Energy, Victoria collaborates with the origination team in community solar and energy storage site acquisition. She holds a master’s degree in Geographic Information Science from the University at Albany with a concentration in renewable energy. Victoria’s dedication to RIC stems from a shared passion for creating a more sustainable energy grid and reducing the world’s dependence on fossil fuels. When not at work, you can find her horseback riding, skiing, and hiking around the Adirondack Mountains.
Director, GIS & Data Analytics
Brad is responsible for leading the mapping efforts of RIC as well as providing data analysis to guide decision making. Brad brings over 20 years of experience in GIS and data analytics, focusing on enterprise GIS management, spatial data analysis, and visual design. Prior to RIC, Brad worked in the environmental conservation, urban and environmental planning, and renewable energy sectors. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University, majoring in Geography.
Project Manager, Development
Jim is a Project Manager on the Development team and collaborates with project communities to navigate local approvals processes. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University at Buffalo and is a licensed civil/environmental engineer in New York and North Carolina. With over 20 years of experience in design, construction, and inspection, Jim has successfully completed various green energy, environmental remediation, land and habitat restoration, and land development projects across the US.
Senior Director, Development
Ivaylo manages all development initiatives of the company across different markets in the US and is responsible for strategic management, market intelligence, project origination and development, acquisitions, as well as partner and subcontractor relations. Ivaylo brings extensive experience in business development and strategic management consulting, as well as experience in the Electric Vehicles and Renewable Energy sectors. He has managed development and construction of over 300 MW of solar projects across the US, Europe and the Middle East. He holds a BS degree in International Affairs, as well as College Degree in Finance and Management.
