Madrid, April 29, 2025. As part of the Raíces (Roots, in English) program, which reflects RIC Energy’s social and territorial commitment, the company has signed a collaboration agreement with the Calanda Town Council to promote sports and culture in the municipality of Teruel.
This agreement takes on special significance in a landmark year for Calanda, recently designated as the European Town of Sport 2025 and coinciding with the 125th anniversary of the birth of Luis Buñuel, its most renowned filmmaker.
With this agreement, RIC Energy strengthens its connection with the regions where it operates, such as Calanda, which will soon host a 5 MW biogas plant, representing an investment of more than 20 million euros. This infrastructure will provide both economic and environmental benefits for the area.
“Calanda is a vibrant town, with over 3,000 residents and remarkable growth in the past year. The involvement of companies like RIC Energy in the social and cultural life of the town enhances our ability to energize the region and highlight its value,” said José Alberto Herrero, Mayor of Calanda, during the signing of the agreement.
RIC Energy’s Raíces program seeks to create a positive impact in rural areas by promoting initiatives that improve the quality of life for local residents through health, the environment, local culture, economic development, and urban planning consultancy.
